Learn moreConcrete pumping only works when the pump arrives on time, the operator knows the equipment, and the hose is set up correctly before the agitator truck pulls up. A smooth concrete pump job starts with good preparation. Here's what to expect when you book with us.
Tell us your suburb, the type of pour, approximate volume, and access situation. We'll provide a fast, transparent quote — no hidden call-out fees.
Confirm your pour date and we'll liaise with your ready-mix concrete supplier to synchronise arrival times. Your builder handles the concrete order — we handle the pump.
We arrive ahead of the concrete truck, position the pump, run the hose to the placement point, and prime the line with a cement slurry so the first pour is clean.
We pump at the pace your concreters need, moving the hose as the pour progresses. Once complete, we flush the lines thoroughly and leave the site clean.
Adelaide presents a unique set of challenges for concrete placement. The city's residential blocks are often narrow — particularly in established inner suburbs like Norwood, Glenelg, and Port Adelaide — where getting a concrete truck close enough for a direct chute pour is simply not possible. In the Adelaide Hills, sloped terrain and elevated block access add another layer of complexity. In coastal suburbs from Henley Beach to Aldinga, narrow beach-side blocks require a pump to reach rear yards and extensions.
A mobile line pump solves all of these situations. The pump truck parks on the road or driveway, and up to 100 metres of flexible rubber hose is run to the exact point of placement. Concrete is pushed through the line under pressure, arriving at the right consistency and volume whenever your concreters need it.
The most common applications for residential concrete pumping in Adelaide include house slabs for new builds and extensions, granny flat slabs, swimming pool shells, driveways, and footings for pergolas and retaining walls. Commercial applications include warehouse floors, car park slabs, kerbing, and large poured footings.
Any job where the concrete truck cannot discharge directly into the forms — either due to access restrictions, height differences, or distance — is a candidate for pumping. Difficult access sites are, in fact, one of our most common bookings. A rear yard separated from the street by a house and a side passage that's too narrow for even a small truck is no obstacle for a line pump with flexible hose.
We also regularly work on pool shell pours, where fast, consistent delivery of a concrete mix into a shaped excavation is critical — especially on warm Adelaide days when set time is shortened. Slab pumping for new homes and extensions is our highest-volume service, and underground and basement pumping has grown as Adelaide sees more multi-level residential development.
Adelaide's extreme summer temperatures — regularly exceeding 40°C in January and February — affect fresh concrete more than most tradies realise. At high temperatures, concrete begins to stiffen faster, reducing the workable window. This makes fast, efficient placement from a pump far preferable to slow wheelbarrow or chute delivery, which can see the first poured concrete beginning to set before the pour is complete.
Pumping also allows your concreters to place and finish in a controlled, sequential manner, working from one end of the slab to the other without the scramble that comes with a direct discharge that dumps a large volume in one location. In SA's climate, this control often means the difference between a clean finish and a stressed slab.

"The pump was set up and ready before the concrete truck arrived, which never happens with other operators. We poured a 120m² rear extension slab in Salisbury — tight access through a 900mm side gate — and they handled it without any fuss. Will book again."
"Used Adelaide Prime Concrete Pumping for a pool shell pour in Glenelg. The mix we needed was quite specific and they worked with us and the batch plant to make sure the right slump was delivered. Fast, professional, and no issues on the day. Highly recommend for residential concrete pumping Adelaide."
"We run a building company and use these guys for most of our difficult access residential jobs. Reliable, experienced, and they know how to set up a hose run efficiently. The team in Tea Tree Gully and Modbury couldn't be easier to work with."
